Crack / Gap Injection Applications

Crack / Gap Injection Applications Image 1

Crack injection is generally used in reinforced concrete structures where water ingress into the structure is caused by undesirable cracking systems in the concrete. Especially in tunnels, basements, underground structures, water ingress through cracks can be observed due to insufficient insulation and problems in concrete casting. If the cracks through which the water flows are not repaired, over time this will cause corrosion of the reinforcement in the concrete and significantly shorten the life of the structure.

Another situation where crack injection may be needed is cold joints that may occur during concrete pouring. These discontinuities can be filled with crack injection and the adherence of the two concretes can be ensured.
